Sodium Bicarbonate Cleanse

The Sodium Bicarbonate Cleanse is prescribed as a stomach cleanse by the Hippie.

Day Before
On the day before cleansing you have to drink a lot of filtered water throughout the day. Avoid meat, alcohol, caffeine and sugars. Eat a moderate lunch and a very light dinner several hours before sleep. Try to finish eating dinner by 7pm and if possible try to skip dinner. You must sleep preferably by 10pm in order to wake up “Comfortably” for an 8am cleansing start time.

Note:
If you absolutely must have coffees then take the bare minimum. Preferably drink no more then one cup. Drinking just enough to avoid or reduce withdrawal symptoms. It is also best to avoid being in a sleep deprived state. Not only should you have been sleeping well the night before. But it is also recommendable to have been sleeping well 2 or 3 nights before.

Morning of cleansing
Start the cleansing routine early. Preferably 8am so that you can finish with it by 12pm and no later then 2pm. If you wake up earlier then feel free to start earlier.

Dosage
Mix “Heaping” table spoons of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) into a glass of water. I suggest 1.5 heaping tablespoons if you are of a small build, 2 Table spoons for a medium build, and 3 for a large build.

4 – 6 Hours Cleansing
You will require, after consuming your Baking Soda serving, unhindered access to a toilet. It may take 4 – 6 hours for the Baking Soda to pass through your system. During the whole process of evacuation keep drinking roughly a liter of filtered water every hour. The passing of yellow water will indicate that you are nearing the end.

Note:
If you have any food or residue of food in your stomach then vomiting may occur. Following the previous day’s routine is necessary to avoid vomiting.

Full Evacuation
After 4 – 6 hours you will feel a heightened sense of energy and clarity once your system clears itself. You will literally “KNOW” you are cleaned out.

I experienced the light in the room becoming brighter. The white in my eyes became whiter while my senses felt sharper. Shortly after I went to a coffee shop to read and drink unsweetened herbal teas.

After Evacuation
Do not eat. Drink only:
   A) fruit juices – Preferably pure from your own juicer. Consume juices without artificial additives
and sugars. Carrots and apple juice is excellent. Avoid citrus fruits for the first 6 hours.
   B) Herbal teas - Tea made from honey, and boiled ginger root.

   C) Herbal Teas with maple syrup added to it.

Eating again
Try to sustain the day with only fruit juices if possible. It should be a very light dinner if you eat dinner. This is important. DO NOT GORGE. DO NOT BINGE! It is contraindicative to consume large quantities of food at this point. It may lead to bloating and indigestion.

Your first meal either for dinner or the following morning’s breakfast should be very light. Before eating consume plain yogurt. Eat soggy mushy foods such as porridge, oatmeal, and bananas. Once again DO NOT BING. Avoid meats, sugars, caffeine and alcohol.

Warning: Before attempting this or any other dietary recommendation you should consult with your doctor first.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slight alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate). It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs. The natural mineral form is known as nahcolite. It is also produced artificially.

Since it has long been known and is widely used, the salt has many related names such as baking soda, bread soda, cooking soda, bicarbonate of soda. Colloquially, its name is shortened to sodium bicarb. The word saleratus, from Latin sal æratus meaning "aerated salt", was widely used in the 19th century for both sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate. The term has now fallen out of common usage.
